As most of you know, the last week has been an amazing medical extravaganza here at the Wygle Wide Web, what with my back and Dotty being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. So this here serves as an update for how we’re doing.
Dotty is now home, which is really nice for her since I think that some of the panic that was happening was due to just being at the hospital. They’re still trying to figure out her dose of insulin (and I’m still trying to remember the dang formula) and it’s much greater than they originally thought. But she’s getting used to both testing her blood and taking the shots, even though she fights it.
As for my back, it is getting better. After spending over a week laying flat and being doped up on some meds I’m starting to feel more like myself. I’m able to get out and do some normal activity. I still can’t lift much or sit for too long, but walking and standing aren’t bothersome.
In light of all of this, I’ve decided to take these next few weeks and really focus on spending time with my girls, so I probably won’t be online too much. I’ve got the next three weeks off of work and really want to do as much Christmasy things with my family and spend the time praying and talking about how amazing God’s grace is through all of this.
So, please be in prayer for the following;
- That the doctors will figure out the correct dose for Dorothy’s medicine
- That my back will continue to heal
- That all of us will adjust to the new rhythm of our family life
- For Dotty to grow accustumed to her ‘pokes’
- For Eve to stay calm during Dotty’s pokes
- For our dog, who is quite rambunctious, to settle down, and
- That we all will grow closer as a family as we focus on what God is doing in our lives right now.
We’d love to spend this season with friends as well as family, so if you’d like to get ahold of us, leave a comment here, email, or call.
Thank you all for your prayers,
The Wygles.
