“Come Thou Fount” as played by Red Letter in October.
Just got done with a rousing discusion on twitter about this song being a Christmas song just because Sufjan Stevens put it on a Christmas CD and the title is talking about the coming of Jesus. (You’ll note that the only mention of Christmas that the entry on Wikipedia mentions is in relation to Sufjan Steven’s version.)
So, is this a song about Christmas; winter, manger, Jesus’ birth, santa, reindeer, snow, or any combination of those, among other things ? Or is it a song about Jesus saving and giving his glorius grace to someone that doesn’t deserve it? Is it possible that just because a song is about Jesus that it is, therefore, a song about Christmas?
