jeremy enigk once wrote [COPYRIGHTED LYRICS OMITTED — “Seven” by Sunny Day Real Estate — manual review required]s tragic drive, when time is poetry’ i now understand that. saturday i drove from my house in portland to a friend’s wedding up north of seattle. it was a nice small wedding, just the type i want, but am not going to have, too many people in my book. while there, i ran into some old friends of mine that got married a year ago or so. so i followed them to their house and met their dog. it was good to sit and talk for a little while. then from there i proceeded to the u district of seattle for a rock show. i got there early so i sat and read my book in a local starbucks. the show was good. band one was called padre, the lead singer was the same guy from roadside monument. that’s what it sounded like, he even closed with a roadside song. the second band wasn’t too bad, just not what i was in the mood for, they sounded like they did the soundtrack for never ending story. the third, blenderhead, they know how to rock. i bought a 6 song ep for a buck and enjoyed their set. leaving around midnight i stopped for food at jack in the box, then hit the road at 12:25 exactly. without fully falling asleep i made it home in two hours and thirty-five minutes, i went eighty for quite a bit of the way. but the music and the wind kept me from sleeping. got home and then crashed, i hit my bed and was asleep until noon the next day. i think i’m going to make some breakfast now.
