smash! thom had hit the last car spinning him out of control into the building on the other side of the intersection. so he jumped out and started running away from the small mob of angry, faceless people chasing him. what had he done that caused this to be happening to him, it had to be a bad dream.the mass grew louder yet still distant. he looked back and recognized every single strangers face in the crowd. trying to figure out the moments of the last twenty minutes, he has still no recollection of the most recent events of his life. he can remember when he was three being afraid of the bees that stood between him and his cousins, but in a half an hour he has lost everything.still running, not realizing that he isn’t out of breath. he looks around and sees that the close buildings had turned into far away mountains, the street lights and changed into trees, and the asphalt he’d been running on had transformed into a strange desert drive with two parallel paths separated by a row of short bushes. he knew this drive hadn’t been used in a long time. the rabble still had all their stamina, gaining on him and still the same, if not a further distance from him as before.it all started to come back to him as he scurried across a narrow rope bridge. he was sitting eating his breakfast when he saw that he had won the prize advertised on his cereal box. he was now in the very middle of the swaying viaduct. as he remembered more of his eventful, unrealistic day, he heard a snap. one of his pursuers had made it to the other side before he had even started across. with a small knife she had on her key chain, she had cut the only thing that kept Thom from plummeting to his death.as he was falling the events rushed towards him faster than the ground did. he didn’t even think about his inevitable fate. the soft ground came rushing towards him as he bolted up and looked around and realized he was in his bed. he caught his breath, wiped his brow, and laid back down to remember this dream. all he could gather was the fall, nothing of it came back to him. he rolled over and went back to sleep.adam.
