in the last scene of the movie, rob talks about making a tape for laura, a tape of songs she’ll like. now what’s the difference between this tape and the tape he made for her earlier in the movie, or the tape he made for any other girl in the movie? a tape made for someone is most often to broaden the musical taste, or introduce them to bands, like the one i made jen. a tape you make with “song’s she’ll like” has a lot more thought put into it, these are songs that are either special to the girl or have something in them that will make the special to her. on the first tape though, the songs on there are just the best off the album, or the first of the album, so little attention went into lyrics. much more can be said on this, but not now.
