waking up to mass destruction

has long been a weird sort of dream of mine. sleeping through the end of the world, not knowing that death is all around me is an amazing idea. this morning around 11 or so, i woke up to what i thought was russ trying to get my attention, looked outside, no russ, went down stairs, no russ. oh well. so i fell back asleep. when i did wake up at noon, i came down to check my email and get food, and all over the internet was talk of a huge quake in the pacific northwest, i figured it to be something small just out of portland that has been blown up because we never get anything like that, but to find out it was a 7, and it was closer to seattle than it was to me, and it still woke me. i don’t have much faith in the ground anymore. if a satellite falls out of the sky, call me, it seems like it’s going to be that kind of day.
