he gets things

here’s an excerpt from a recent email i sent to josh. i just thought i’d share it, and maybe other people can answer my questions.
i hear many people say they are doing some music that is similar to weezer. this, to me, is an oddity. is weezer the definitive rock group of our time? what happened to nirvana? the music that the band put together was great, everyone owns the blue album, few own pinkerton, not even i own that one. what is it about these boys that is so widely pleasing. a tape without a weezer song on it, just isn’t a proper comp tape. we all watched, amazed as they sang, simply in front of a blue back drop about a simple torso cover-up. towards the end of the song/video, they released the hounds, making me ask the question, “hey! who let the dogs out?” i see people everywhere talking about weezer. is it possible that they are the under rated group that we’ve all been looking for? the answer to these intriguing questions and more, next time.
