i just had a good conversation (kind of) with my friend and she’s in a situation not too unlike my own. i will tell you mine, then her’s and you can decide who’s worse off. everybody knows you only live a day. that girl steph, i’ve known her for two years. i told her i liked her a year ago. 7 months ago i decided i didn’t want to lose her friendship, so i figured i’d stop myself from liking her. this was easy because she and i never did much living in different towns 2 hours apart. but, when i moved closer to her (not to be closer to her) we started hanging out more and more, as “friends.” and, as the good friend i am, i started liking her again. oh well. but a few weeks ago it came to a point where our friendship was in jeopardy (insert show music here) because i was bottling it up and just festering on how much i enjoyed being with her. so i told her. the phone call went well. and it wasn’t one of those uncomfortable things. we are friends above all else. i don’t want anything to change between us because i can see that we have a great relationship right now. told her that. so nothing changes. but it’s out there, and i’m not worrying. but i told her that i had spent a year and a half focused on her and i don’t know how i can get to that point with someone else. good. now my friend that has a similar situation. she’s known guy one (1) for a year, and guy two (2) for her life. she likes 1. 1 doesn’t like her the same way. 2 likes her. she likes 2, just not as much. 1 and her have a relationship quite like mine and stephs. 2 has been in relationships that weren’t very good, sex, drugs, and i’ll have to check on the rock ‘n’ roll part. so she thinks that 2 and her would be too much like her last relationship. just physical. but she knows 2 has changed from his past. and she has fun with 2. i don’t know much more than that. i think i got it right. if i didn’t then i hope she e-mails me and lets me know. the thing that we’ve been discussing is the situation she has with 2. i don’t have a 2, just steph. but i don’t know that i could consider jumping into a relationship with someone who i’m not as familiar with as i am with steph. and she doesn’t want to give up all the time she’s put into 1 for something that might be flippant with 2. makes sense.
