everyone wants to have fame, at least fifteen minutes. i want to be known and faceless. not infamous, but my name is recognized, and you know who i hang out with, but i don’t have a face. or i’m obscure. look at the seattle scene, you’ve got (name drop in 3-2-1) david bazan, damien jurado, adam voith, and the others. sure, we know what they look like, and can find pictures easily, but they all help each other in their arts, music, writing, touring, publishing. ok, so i don’t want to be faceless. but i do want a group of people who run together, record together, drink together, and mention each other in songs or books or readings. the name’s josh duff, russ patrick, and adam wygle will one day be known. maybe we’ll all have to break the law. or just write a few songs, or a book, either way, it’ll have to be creative.
yes, i am hoping that those names i dropped see this, why else would i write it? oh, if david sees this, i’ll be at the portland show on the 10th. i’m the one wearing dark clothes and acting depressed swaying forward and back singing along with you. we talked a bit last time you came through portland. i’m the why-don’t-you-play-almost-there kid. josh and i decided that we would just yell at you all through the show to piss you off because you said that’s the only way you’d play the song.
adam.
